EVENT: Love Cures Cancer Charity Auction Event

Hey Everyone, I don’t know if there was ever a better time to give! Please join me at this Charity event held at the popular Kress Nightclub in Los Angeles. My wife is on the board of this wonderful foundation benefitting Children’s Cancer Research. There will be a live and silent auction with hosted specialty cocktails. After the auction, DJ Reflex from Power 106 will be spinning so bring your dancing shoes. They’ve got some awesome items up for auction. Life doesn’t revolve around Football
March 5, 2009

Okay, okay, so I admit it….Life doesn’t revolve around Football…but it does revolve around sports, in more ways than one!

Think about your job and how you compete amongst colleagues for a promotion or maybe you compete against other companies for big accounts.  Think about your family life and how you practice being a better father/mother/brother/sister/husband or wife every single day.  Think about the mental and physical stamina that you use throughout all aspects of your personal and work life to self-motivate and further your career or better yourself….

Competition, practice, mental, physical, stamina, skills….these are all words that describe what it takes to play in a professional sport…but as a RETIRED professional athlete, I still see all of these things reflected in my daily life NOW….

My motivational words for you:  For the next week, see your job as a sport…  Try and make it a competitive game of sorts.  I cherished the feelings I had every Sunday… from the rituals in the locker room, to bouncing in unison and chanting in our huddle, to the adrenaline pumping and driving my every move.  Can you make your job just as invigorating by creating your own “sport”?  I know a lot of people who have been having a tough time at work, especially during all of these economic shifts, but I encourage you to make things better for yourself.  Create a game-plan for yourself or your team: include your goals and the steps needed to achieve each one.  Make them short term…NFL games usually last 3 hours; short and sweet but there is NO room or time for error or hesitation…the glory of victory, however,  is oh-so-sweet and always outlives the 3 hours of sweat…Let me know how it goes!
